Welcome! This is a website that everyone can build together. It's easy!

Hello Summit,

As computer teacher, member of the district and school technology teams, and participant in the instructional technology strand, I am creating and facilitating our first staff wiki. A wiki is like a weblog (blog) in that it is a collaborative tool for journaling and discussion. The difference is that it provides the capability for viewer interaction by allowing members to add and edit a variety of content. In essence, together we create a website for the purpose of sharing our ideas and vision on a particular topic, in this case SHS Instructional Technology.

For more detailed explanations, visit these links:

You have all been invited to participate in this wiki. From your invitation email, click on the link and login. Once logged in, click on the button Apply to Be a Writer on the right navigation pane. You will receive another email noting your status change from registered user to writer. As a writer on the wiki, you'll have the ability to create a response page to the Feedback Form located on the left navigation pane. See me if you need any assistance with the initial steps.

And welcome to Summit's first wiki!
Carol

1. What are your general thoughts on instructional technology at SHS? So far so good!!! The Smart Board is used frequently in the lab and I like United Streaming too!

2. What are your concerns, problems, frustrations regarding instructional technology at SHS? Be specific. My main problem or concern is that the computers in the lab have not consistently worked well. They are very slow and a lot of time is wasted waiting for programs to load.

3. What solutions do you propose? Be specific. New computers!!!

4. List one example of effective use of instructional technology in your classroom. Presentations on career exploration, digital portfolios, Smart Board, United Streaming, and on-line ACT preparation.

5. What are your immediate technology needs (hardware, software, training)? More training!!!

6. What is your shoot-for-the-moon technology wish list? New computers in the lab with Vista software and that staff can become proficient with the new software!!!

7. Are there any additional thoughts you wish to share about instructional technology at SHS?
Thanks for all of your hardwork Carol!! I really appreciate all that you do!!

Do you find this valuable?
